With the June bank holiday weekend approaching and the promise of improving summer weather, ESB has issued a reminder to the public about the dangers of swimming in its reservoirs in Kildare.
Martin Stronge, Senior Manager of Hydro Operations, emphasised the importance of heeding safety warnings posted around the reservoirs.
He said the areas are unsafe for swimming due to deep and fast-flowing waters, fluctuating water levels, and uneven ground, which pose serious risks.
The reservoirs include Golden Falls and Leixlip as well as Poulaphouca in Wicklow.
