Cars have been reported to be speeding at 100kph up the road.
Residents on the Great Connell Road have told KFM that they are afraid to come out of their house because of the speed of the cars on the road.
Ornaments and pictures have been falling off the wall because of vibrations, according to one resident.
Social Democrats Councillor Chris Pender said he has been liasing with the area engineer
However, he said road ramps would cause significant noise because of the trucks that go up the road.
"You can put in as many engineering solutions as you want but speeders will always ignore engineering solutions," he insisted.
"I'll be pressing Kildare County Council on that," he said.
Pender says he will speak to the Gardaí to see if a speed van can be positioned somewhere on the road and for enforcement to be done.
Cllr.Chris Pender spoke about the issue with Clem Ryan on Wednesday morning's Kildare Today:
