Talks aimed at resolving the dispute involving the country's retained firefighters ended in the early hours of the morning at the WRC.
A revised pay offer and measures to improve the recruitment and retention of staff resulted in SIPTU agreeing to suspend industrial and strike action.
The proposals will now be considered by members and voted on.
In a statement SIPTU's Karan O' Loughlin said as well as dealing with core pay , the over all proposals provided more value for for firefighters and made adjustments for new recruits.
She described the move as a good first step in their campaign to rebuild the Retained Fire Service.
The proposals have a built-in review every six months,
