The discovery was made at a commercial premises
Revenue officers seized 143kgs of rolling tobacco with an estimated value in excess of €108,000 in Kildare, during the search of a commercial premises on Monday.
The illicit tobacco, branded ‘Golden Virginia’, represents a potential loss to the Exchequer of almost €83,000.
This seizure is part of Revenue’s ongoing operations targeting the shadow economy and the supply of illegal tobacco products.
Investigations are ongoing.
