Saint John of God Community Services is transferring all its service provision to the HSE.

It will happen later this year and follows the failure to conclude a funding agreement with the Health Service Executive.

Chief Executive of the Service, Clare Dempsey, said it was a very sad day.

The organisation is described as a leading provider of intellectual disability and community mental health services.

It employs 3,000 staff and volunteers in 300 locations across Kildare, Wicklow, Dublin, Meath, Louth and Kerry.
