A Sallins man has returned home to Ireland after being detained by Israeli forces during an aid mission attempting to bring supplies to Gaza.
Colm Byrne was among a group of Irish citizens travelling with the Global Sumud Flotilla, which was intercepted earlier this week.
Mr Byrne arrived back in Dublin Airport yesterday alongside other Irish members of the mission.
Prior to the flotilla being stopped, Mr Byrne had sent video updates to KFM describing conditions onboard and concerns about drones being spotted overhead.
Other Irish activities involved in the mission have alleged they were mistreated while in detention, claims which Israeli authorities dispute.
Speaking after returning home, activities involved in the flotilla said efforts to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza would continue.
