Gardaí in Newbridge have renewed their appeal for information following a hit-and-run incident that occurred earlier this month, leaving a 12-year-old boy seriously injured.
The incident took place at approximately 10pm on Saturday, April 5th, at the junction of Standhouse Road and Standhouse Lawns in Newbridge.

Eyewitnesses reported that the vehicle, believed to have been travelling from the Curragh, collided with the cyclist before continuing in the direction of Moorefield Road. In the course of the collision, the car’s wing mirror was dislodged and left behind at the scene.
The young male suffered a broken shoulder, a broken ankle, and head injuries.
He was hospitalised for five nights but is expected to make a full recovery.
Gardaí are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who was in the area at the time and may have dash cam footage to come forward.
In particular, they are seeking information from anyone in the motor trade who may have been approached in recent weeks to replace a wing mirror on a dark-coloured Volkswagen Golf.
