It will be supported by €20 million in Government infrastructure funding
An engineer has been appointed to progress a major road and River Liffey bridge scheme in Newbridge.
PUNCH Consulting Engineers, a COWI company, has been appointed by Evara Developments for the project.
It will be supported by €20 million in Government infrastructure funding.
PUNCH will progress the detailed design and tender stages of the Newbridge South Outer Orbital Road, following its earlier work supporting the scheme through planning.
The project will deliver approximately 790 metres of new road and a 170-metre, five-span bridge across the River Liffey, connecting the Great Connell and Kilbelin areas.
The scheme will improve access to development lands and support future housing delivery, alongside new walking and cycling facilities and a 9.2-hectare River Park.
Tender documentation is targeted for issue by the end of 2026, with construction anticipated to begin in 2027 and completion targeted for Q4 2028.
