It follows a tender request issued by Kildare County Council in May
A local representative for Naas has said she was "so surprised" to learn that no agreement has been made for vendors to open up a coffee dock at Kerdiffstown Park in the area.
Since it opened to the public, a "large number of requests" have been received from suppliers expressing an interest in setting up tea/coffee and refreshment provision at the site.
A tender request was then issued by Kildare County Council in May, resulting in "one viable submission", but ultimately no arrangement resulted from the process.
After this in July, KCC issued another tender for service provision at the Park, which ended with no viable submissions.
In a more positive update, the Council said the Parks Department is currently advertising an open call through their website and other channels for refreshment concessions at Parks Department managed sites across the county.
Suppliers are requested to put forward proposals regarding location and format for consideration, allowing applicants to supply more than one site in the county.
Speaking on Kildare Today, Fianna Fáil Councillor for Naas MD Carmel Kelly said it's badly needed in the area:
"It's very much needed, especially in Kerdiffstown, I can't walk out the gate and go to the local shop, by virtue of it's location, there's not much around.
"We all thought it was vital that there be some kind of facility there, it's always packed and there's always children there playing," Kelly added.
She emphasised the "importance" of having a coffee dock in the area, hoping for more positive future updates for the Park.
"I'm glad to see that they didn't close the submissions, and that they're still working on it, so if there's anybody out there in Naas but also all over the county, please get onto the Kildare County Council website and apply there," she concluded.
