Between Junction 8 Johnstown and Junction 7 Kill is closed.
Drivers are advised to find alternative routes.
As for the M9, a road closure is in place between J4 Carlow (North) and J2 Kilcullen.
Fuel protests have also caused closures on the M50 Northbound, with J6 M50/N3 and J5 M50/N2 (Dublin) closed.
