Sinn Fein The Most Popular Party, 9 Points Clear Of Fianna Fail

Fianna Fail are five points ahead of Fine Gael.

Sinn Fein is the most popular political party in the republic 9 points clear of Fianna Fail, According to the Sunday Times latest political poll.

Fianna Fail has pulled five points clear of Fine Gael, Micheál Martin has drawn level with Mary Lou McDonald and satisfaction with the government is up for the third month in a row, according to the latest Behaviour and Attitudes poll for The Sunday Times.

Although Sinn Fein is unchanged at 34% and remains the most popular party, nine points clear of Fianna Fail.

The Taoiseach who will find most to be happy with in the latest survey with his personal, party and government ratings all on the rise.

Satisfaction with his performance as Taoiseach is up three points to 51%, his highest score since taking office, putting him on the same rating as McDonald.

Satisfaction with the government’s performance is up two points to 46% and support for Fianna Fail is up one point to 25 per cent, its highest level in two years.

Leo Varadkar, the tanaiste and Fine Gael leader, is up three points to a 44% satisfaction rating but support for his party is down two points to 20 per cent.

This gives Fianna Fail the largest lead it has had over Fine Gael since the parties took office together in 2020.
