The sod has officially been turned for the new library in Newbridge
Agriculture Minister and Kildare South TD Martin Heydon, as well as Minister of State Jerry Buttimer presided over the event.

Speaking on Kildare Today, Minister Heydon says it will be a great addition to the town
"It really is going to be a phenomenal investment, one of the biggest library investments to be developed this year."
He added that it will "transform the library services in Newbridge" from a 500sqm site to almost a 2,500sqm site.
"This new library is really going to a fantastic addition to the town for and old, but also when you consider the services like the county archive, genealogy services and beyond, and what that can do for tourism. There's just so many benefits here."
