The boy's mother has appealed to garages, mechanics and car repair centres who were asked to repair wing mirrors on a dark-coloured Volkswagen Golf to contact Gardai.
The mother of a 12-year-old boy left hospitalised for five days after a hit-and-run has appealed for information.
The incident took place at approximately 10pm on Saturday, April 5th, at the junction of Standhouse Road and Standhouse Lawns in Newbridge.
The boy was travelling on an electric bike when he was struck by a dark-coloured Volkswagen Golf, which failed to remain at the scene.
The car’s wing mirror was dislodged and left behind at the scene.
The young male suffered a broken shoulder, a broken ankle, and head injuries.
The boy's mother has appealed to garages, mechanics and car repair centres who were asked to repair wing mirrors on a dark-coloured Volkswagen Golf to contact Gardai.
She said there is one speed bump about 80 metres from where her son was knocked down but it did not "slow the driver" down enough.
She said Gardai are working on retrieving CCTV from the area.
Gardai have also renewed their appeal for information.
