It will cover Wexford, Wicklow, Cork, Kerry and Waterford from 10pm until midnight tonight.
A similar status yellow alert will be in place for Carlow, Kilkenny and Tipperary from 10pm tonight for 24 hours.
While the east will be hit with heavy rain tomorrow.
Spells of heavy rain are forecast which could lead to localised flooding in parts of the country.
