A Status Yellow high temperature warning for much of the country comes into effect later.
From 12pm, counties Kildare, Carlow, Kilkenny, Laois, Longford, Offaly, Westmeath, Cavan, Donegal, Munster and Connacht will be under the warning until until 6am Friday, July 17th.
Farmers are being reminded to make sure their animals have plenty of water and shade during the hot weather, with the IFA warning the high temperatures could have an impact on crops and animal welfare.
