A woman who is suing Straffan resident Conor McGregor for an alleged rape at a hotel in Dublin has told a jury in her civil action against him that he wouldn’t take no for an answer.
The UFC fighter and another man called, James Lawrence, of Rafter’s Road in Drimnagh, deny raping her, claiming everything that happened was consensual.
Nikita Ní Laimhín, or Nikita Hand, as she told the jury she prefers to be called, was working as a hair colourist in Goatstown at the time of the alleged rapes.
On the night of her Christmas party in Dec 2018, she said Conor McGregor commented on a photo of her that she posted on Instagram.
After partying all night, she said she contacted him because she wanted to keep the party going.
Back at the penthouse suite in the Beacon Hotel, she claims he raped her twice.
She claims it happened after he got her into a strangle hold.
Mr McGregor claims it was consensual and says her claim is “false, malicious and made in bad faith.”
A second man accused of raping her, James Lawrence, claims he also had consensual sex with her, twice.
She says has no recollection of having sex with him.
This is not a criminal trial.
Her barrister told the jury she needs “closure and vindication” and compensation for the “physical and psychological injuries” suffered.
