A local councillor has said that the new owners of the former Roberstown hotel are at "advanced stages of communication with Kildare County Council with a view to pre-planning".
It comes as Fianna Fáil Councillor for Clane-Maynooth Daragh Fitzpatrick requested for the council to liaise with the owners of the former hotel in Robertstown to discuss the future use of the building.
Speaking on Kildare Today, Cllr Fitzpatrick said it would be the "last piece of the jigsaw for Robertstown" following the recent opening of an eco park and playground in the area.
Cllr Fitzpatrick said that the new owners were at "advanced stages of communication with Kildare County Council with a view to pre-planning".
"I am just very anxious that the right uses are identified for the hotel. I look forward to the hotel in Robertstown being transformed and brought back to a usable state, because it's a derelict site at the moment."
