Teen was arrested in earlier hours of Wednesday morning
A teenage boy has been remanded at Oberstown Detention Centre after appearing in court in connection with a burglary at a pensioner's home in Celbridge.
The 17 year old - who cannot be named due to his age - was denied bail yesterday.
A 72-year-old man is in hospital after being attacked near his home in the Ardrass area of Celbridge, at approximately 9.30pm on Tuesday.
A number of suspects ran from the scene, while one person fled on a scrambler bike stolen from the property.
A 17-year-old was arrested in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
He was charged with burglary of the man's cottage, trespassing at another house at Ardrass Road, Celbridge, stealing a bike from that property and 11 other offences connected with a range of incidents dating back to July 2020.
The teenager is due in court again next Wednesday.
