Teenage Passenger Dies In Fatal Road Traffic Incident In Newbridge

The road remains closed as Garda Forensic Collision Investigators carry out a full examination, with local diversions in place.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision in Newbridge last night.

Emergency services responded shortly after 8pm to the single-vehicle crash involving a pick-up truck on Barrettstown Road.

A male passenger in his late teens was taken to Naas General Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

The teenage driver was brought to Tallaght Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

No other injuries were reported.

The road remains closed as Garda Forensic Collision Investigators carry out a full examination, with local diversions in place.

Gardaí are urging anyone who witnessed the incident, or who may have dash-cam footage from the area between 7.45pm and 8.15pm, to contact Newbridge Garda Station on 045 440180, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda station.
