A new primary school for Monasterevin has moved a step closer.
The Dept. of Education has approved the tendering of the project to amalgamate St Pete'rs and St Evin's schools in to a single building.
The new building will include 24 classrooms, a special needs unit and a general purpose hall.

My colleague Minister for Education, Norma Foley TD approved the Large-Scale Capital Programme this morning, allowing for the schools to amalgamate, but crucially allowing for the construction of new school building to house them”.
Kildare South Fine Gael TD, and Minister of State, Martin Heydon says the announcement is "another significant investment in educational facilities in the area, with work progressing well on the multi million-euro development of a new school for St. Paul’s secondary school in the town."
