The Liffey Descent Gets Underway Today In Straffan

The race begins at 12pm from the K Club

The 64 year old Liffey Descent gets underway in Straffan this morning.

The Canoeing and Kayaking race attracts participants from around the world with South Africa, Australia and the UK taking part.

The race begins at 12:00pm from the world famous K Club.

The event will cover a 32 kilometer route along the River Liffey finishing at the Garda Boat Club in Islandbridge.

Sam Curtis, Liffey Event media spokesperson, is inviting everyone to support the race, and enjoy the scenery along the way:
