Gardai are appealing for witnesses who were at City West Drive, Garter Lane or the nearby luas stops between 11 pm and 1.30am on Sunday night to come forward.
A man in his 20s is still being questioned about the alleged sexual assault of a young child in Dublin.
Tusla has confirmed the 10-year-old girl had been in its care but absconded.
It is understood that the girl was residing at a registered residential placement.
