Two Kildare bookshops have been awarded funding as part of a national fund aimed at supporting bookshops across the country.
Maynooth Bookshop and Woodbine Books in Kilcullen have been awarded funding as part of the Books at One Community Prize Fund.
The overall funding of €100,000 will support 23 independent Irish bookshops, spanning across 14 counties.
Each selected store will receive a grant of up to €5,000 in support of developing new and engaging activities for the benefit of their local community.
The fund was created in 2025 for Books at One via The One Foundation as a new avenue of support for both independent stores and their surrounding communities.
