Uisce Éireann crews are responding this afternoon to a burst water main in Blakestown, on the R148 Maynooth Road outside Leixlip, which may impact supply to customers in Leixlip, Maynooth, Celbridge and surrounding areas in the county.
Uisce Éireann crews have been mobilised to site and expect work to continue until 6am tomorrow morning.
Uisce Éireann’s Eoghan Forristal has assured customers that every effort is being made to restore a full water supply as quickly as possible.
“We understand the inconvenience of an unplanned outage and we thank customers for their support while repair works are underway. A traffic management plan has been put in place for the duration of the works and further updates will be available on our website as work progresses throughout the evening.”
Typically, it can take three to four hours following repairs for normal supply to be restored to all customers affected by an unplanned outage.
