It will be the third price increase in a year
VHI is increasing the cost of premiums by an average of three per cent.
The price rise will take effect on the 1st of March.
The health insurer says the cost of delivering healthcare continues to rise, as more people access essential services.
It says private hospital claims costs rose by around 13% last year.
This is the third price increase in a year, with price increases announced in March and October of 2025.
Dermot Goode, founder and leader of Health Insurance Ireland, says the increase is not a surprise.
Mr Goode joined the Kildare Today show in October, to let listeners know how to get the best health insurance quote.
