Visiting Restrictions In Place In Naas General Hospital

In a statement, the hospital says it is experiencing a significant increase in the number of patients, including many with respiratory infections

Naas General Hospital has put in place visiting restrictions, due to it currently experiencing a significant increase in the number of patients presenting for care, including many with respiratory infections.

According to the hospital, many are presenting to the Emergency Department with said respiratory infections, resulting in longer wait times for admission to a bed.

Ten people are currently waiting for a bed in the hospital, according to the INMO's Trolley Watch report.

In a statement issued this morning by the HSE Dublin and Midlands, Naas General Hospital has said hospital visiting is currently restricted:

"On some wards, only compassionate visits are permitted. Please check the HSE Disruptions for the latest guidance before attending.

"Hospital management is asking people with non-emergency health concerns to consider other healthcare options where possible, including:

· Your local pharmacist

· Your GP

· Naas Hospital Injury Unit

· GP out-of-hours service (KDOC)"

The Naas Hospital Injury Unit treats broken bones, dislocations, minor burns, and a range of other minor injuries. More information on services, opening hours, and location is available on the website.

The hospital is also advising those to contact the local out-of-hours GP service KDOC, located in Naas and Celbridge.
