Some of the dogs have broken legs.
Staff at a Kildare animal charity are urgently seeking help after rescuing four distressed lurchers, three of which have suffered serious injuries - including broken legs.
My Lovely Horse Rescue, reliant on donations and volunteers, posted a plea on social media alongside a video of the dogs en route to the shelter.
Social media users took to the comments section on social media to express their dismay.
One person wrote: "My heart is broken
all these beautiful animals being so badly treated. You are amazing people for all the work you do."
Another said: "Can I ask, is ANYONE been held accountable for the ill-treatment of all these animals that yous are saving?? We’d get fined for a dog licence running out!"
Another added: "Poor dogs. Thank you for helping them. You are angels.
"
A spokesperson for the charity said: "We don’t have the room, the resources but what are we to do. Look at those innocent faces. We are begging you to support us, we need help. If you can donate or foster we would be so grateful."
