The project is taking place on Main Street, and delays are likely.
A week long series of works begin on Celbridge Main Street this morning.
Kildare County Council says site investigation works are being carried out by a contractor, until Friday.
Works will be underway between 9.30am and 4 O'clock, and from 7pm to 11 O'clock.
A traffic management system will be in place throughout the project.
