While 10 children admitted to one hospital this year after eating cannabis products
The National Poisons Information Centre got 296 calls about children consuming hand-sanitiser last year.
The product has become an essential item during the pandemic.
The centre also got 118 calls about kids consuming bleach, and 125 relating to washing-up liquid.
Dr Paddy Fitzpatrick, a consultant in paediatric emergency medicine, says cleaning agents can cause serious damage to children.
