Catherine Connolly says she used nearly €3,700 of an allowance given to TDs to support a "fact-finding" trip to Syria in 2018.
The Independent presidential candidate says the trip was made to gather information relevant to her work on foreign policy and humanitarian issues, and no personal benefit was accrued.
She declared the total in her annual return to the Standards in Public Office Commission.
