Corporation Tax Now Fuels One-Third of State Income, Minister Warns It’s Not Sustainable
Corporation tax receipts soared in 2025.
Data from the Department of Finance shows corporation taxes added over 32 billion euro to the public purse, a rise of over 17 percent compared to the year before.
The Department says this was driven by the frontloading of exports due to the uncertainty caused by Donald Trump’s tariffs.
Tanaiste and Finance Minister Simon Harris says corporation tax receipts now account for nearly one third of all money collected by the state, saying it's ‘very welcome’ but not ‘indefinitely reliable’.
