€440k Per Unit: OPW Set To Defend High Costs Of Refugee Modular Homes

The total cost for providing 650 modular homes would be nearly 290 million euro.

The OPW is to defend the cost of building modular homes for Ukrainian refugees.

A report from the Comptroller and Auditor General found the cost of each home more than doubled in price compared to original forecasts.

They now cost around €440,000 per unit, and the OPW will tell the Dail's Public Accounts Committee that the cost is higher due to the emergency nature of the programme.

The total cost for providing 650 modular homes would be nearly 290 million euro.
