Eight-Year-Old Girl Fatally Stabbed In Wexford Was Trying To Protect Her Mother

Her parents, both in their 30s, are receiving hospital treatment for non-life threatening stab injuries.

It's understood that an eight-year-old girl who died after she was stabbed in her home had attempted to intervene in a row between two adults.

Malikika Al Katib died yesterday morning after suffering stab wounds in an assault at her home in New Ross on Sunday night.

Her parents, both in their 30s, are receiving hospital treatment for non-life threatening stab injuries.

Local councillor, John Dwyer, says the community is in deep shock.
