The Government study also found that remote work can boost productivity by 22%.
A new government survey found employees could save €1,400 a year by working from home instead of in the office.
The study, which was conducted by the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment, found increases to monthly heating and electricity costs would likely be outweighed by the money saved not commuting to work.
According to these figures workers would send on average €109 more annually on heating and electricity combined, if they worked from home full time
However, remote working would also eliminate the €413 spent commuting via car - leaving you with a saving of €304.
It also found people could save up to €1,400 euro - if they worked the hours they used to use for commuting.
Some 75% of people currently engaged in home duties - including caring - would consider taking up a job if it could be done remotely.
The study also found that remote work can boost productivity by as much as 22%.
