Video footage of a car colliding with pedestrians and launching them into the air during an alleged "hit and run" in Limerick city last Sunday, was played before Limerick district court today.
Gardai allege the car involved was a red coloured Audi A4, and that 20 year old Chloe McNamara with an address at Sarsfield Gardens, Moyross, Limerick, was the driver.
David Raleigh reports.
"CCTV footage, played to the court, showed a car approaching a group of pedestrians from behind, before it appeared to speed up and plough directly into the walkers.
Some of the pedestrians can be seen in the footage being launched into the air by the impact, before the car is seen leaving the scene.
Gardai allege the car involved was a red coloured Audi A4, and that 20 year old Chloe McNamara, with an address at Sarsfield Gardens, Moyross, Limerick, was the driver.
She faces three counts of dangerous driving and with failing to assist persons injured in a road traffic collision in which she was allegedly involved - however she may face more serous charges yet, gardai court was told.
Following strenuous bail objections by gardai, the court refused bail and remanded Ms McNamara in continuing custody for a further two weeks."
