Gardaí In Wexford Investigating Suspected Sex-Tortion Scheme On Anonymous Snapchat Account

Over 200 women in County Wexford have been included on a list published by the account.

Gardaí in the South East are investigating a suspected sex-tortion scheme on a faceless Snapchat account.

A screen recording shared on the app contains a list of folders named after women, and is claiming to have intimate photos belonging to them.

Over 200 women in County Wexford have been included on a list published by an anonymous Snapchat account claiming to have personal or compromising pictures of them.

Gardaí have confirmed they're investigating multiple reports that photos have been shared without consent.

Some victims who contacted the account directly to demand their photos be removed were asked for photos of other people in exchange.

Image Based Sexual Abuse, better known as Revenge Porn, has been an offence here since February of last year.

Gardai are urging anyone who suspects they are a victim of image based sexual abuse to report it to their nearest station.

Wexford Sinn Fein councillor Tom Forde received a screen-recorded video of the list and recognises many of the names:
