The Transport Minister's promising to crack down on illegal drone use.
Operations had to be suspended at Dublin Airport on three separate occasions over the Bank Holiday due to activity in the air space.
After holding talks with DAA and relevant authorities, the Transport Minister condemned what he called the unacceptable disruption to passengers arising from drone incidents over the weekend.
But he said the measures, including the suspension of flight operations, were in line with international best practice.
A drone detection system is in operation at Dublin Airport.
It gives early warning of illegal activity, and information garnered form this system is being used to pursue enforcement activity, including prosecution.
But a policy framework for unmanned aircraft system (drones) is also in development and will include measures on enforcement and compliance.
In the meantime all the relevant bodies have committed to working together to ensure a rapid and effective response to such incidents.
