Investigation Underway After Garda Allegedly Left Gun In Dublin Shop Changing Room

Garda Headquarters says a senior officer is conducting an internal disciplinary investigation.

A garda is under an internal disciplinary investigation after reports an official gun was left in shop in the capital

It's understood the weapon was misplaced in a changing room.

It was found by a staff member, local Gardaí were notified, and the garda returned to retrieve it.

In 2018, the Garda Ombudsman launched an inquiry after a submachine gun was found on a Dublin street. The weapon has fallen out the back of a Garda armed support vehicle.
