Learner Drivers Face Extra Lessons Under Planned Permit Crackdown

Under the proposals, learners who haven't passed their test after seven years will have to take additional lessons to get back on the road.

Its aimed at closing a loophole which allows people to stay on a learner permit.

Kildare's driving test centre in Naas has an estimated wait time of 5 weeks.

From January to May there was 165 no-shows.

In June there was 31 no-shows.
