Mr Troy stepped down last week.

Dara Calleary has been appointed as Minister of State, replacing Robert Troy who stepped down last week.

The Mayo TD previously served as the Agriculture Minister but stepped down in 2020, in the aftermath of the Golfgate controversy.

Dara Calleary returns to the senior ranks of Government today, taking over the position of Minister of State at the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment.

With over 15 years in the Dáil, the Mayo TD has been the Chief Whip of the Fianna Fail party, Junior Minister at the Department of the Gaeltacht, the Irish language and Sport and the Agriculture Minister.

He stepped down as Agriculture Minister in 2020, after he attended the controversial Golfgate dinner.

Deputy Calleary takes over from Robert Troy, who stepped down after he failed to declare all his properties to the Oireachtas register.
