A murder investigation is underway after a woman in her 60s and a four-year-old boy died in a house fire in Offaly.
It broke out at a home in Castleview Park in Edenderry at about 7.45 yesterday evening.
Another woman, aged in her 50s, is in hospital with serious injuries.
The house has been declared a crime scene and Garda technical examinations are ongoing, with post mortems due to begin this afternoon at Midland Regional Hospital Tullamore.
Investigators believe the home was attacked and the fire was deliberately started.
