An audit is being undertaken between the years 2021- 2023 to see if children had surgeries on their hips they didn't need.
But some parents are also receiving letters with regard to their children’s operations as far back as 2010.
Chair of the Oireachtas Health Committee TD, Padraig Rice, says the lack of information is upsetting parents.
