Senior officers say inquiries are under way after what Mr Harris described as “despicable” threats targeting children.

Gardaí are investigating a serious threat made on social media against Tánaiste Simon Harris and his family.

He said it was cowardice, and a line no decent society should tolerate being crossed.

Security Analyst Declan Power says Gardai should be able to easily trace the person behind the threat.
