Repeat Sex Offenders Should Be "Chemically Castrated", Says Independent TD

An Independent TD says chemical castration should be considered for repeat sex offenders and Ireland needs to get tougher on crime.

Michael Collins made the comments in an interview with Hot Press, in which he also said sex workers should be protected.

He believes rapists and paedophiles should be chemically castrated and criminals should get an automatic 25 year sentence for their third conviction.

The Cork TD says there has to be more significant consequences for serious crimes in this country.
