Taoiseach Condemns Unprovoked Knife Attack On Garda In Dublin City Centre

The unprovoked attack on the officer, who has only been in the job for a number of months, happened at around 6 o'clock yesterday evening on Capel Street.

The stabbing of a garda in Dublin city centre has been described as 'appalling' and 'unacceptable'.

A man in his 20s was arrested and remains in custody while the garda was not seriously injured.

Political leaders, including the Taoiseach, have condemned the knife attack.
