With events taking place throughout the afternoon at the Heritage Centre

The 140th anniversary of birth of the founder of the GAA takes place in the Burren in Co. Clare today.

Celebrations to mark Michael Cusack's birthday take place from lunchtime at the Heritage Centre where he was born.

The commemorative day in honour of the Gaelic Athletics Association's organiser is open to the public, with events taking place throughout the afternoon.

Manager of the Michael Cusack Heritage Centre Tim Madden says they have a mission.
