The annual Garda memorial day has taken place at Dublin Castle, honouring the 90 gardaí who have died in the line of duty.
Justice Minister Jim O'Callaghan, Garda Commissioner Drew Harris, and families of deceased members of the force were in attendance.
Minister O'Callaghan said this year's event was especially poignant, coming just a day after the funeral of Garda Kevin Flatley.
Garda Kevin Flatley died last Sunday after being struck by a motorcycle at a speed checkpoint in Co Dublin.
