He believe's it's evident by The United Nations Security Council decision to remove Irish peacekeepers from Lebanon by 2027.

The Tanaiste says the current triple lock system is "absolutely broken".

Simon Harris says this is evident by the United Nations Security Council decision to remove Irish peacekeepers from Lebanon by 2027 .

Government has proposed changing legislation, meaning the Irish Defence Forces could be deployed with Dail and Government approval - without a mandate from the UN.

The Tanaiste believes it's necessary.
