The man and woman were both in their 30's.
Two people have died in a crash involving a van and a car in Co Limerick last night.
The crash happened on the N21 near Ballycarrane, Patrickswell, at around 9.25pm.
The man and the woman, who were both in their 30s and travelling in a car at the time of the incident, were pronounced dead at the scene.
The occupants of the van - a man and woman in their 20s and a little boy - were taken to University Hospital Limerick for treatment but are believed to be uninjured at this time.
The road remains closed and Gardaí are appealing for witnesses, particularly those with dashcam footage.
