Andy Farrell will remain as Ireland head coach until the end of the 2027 World Cup.
The outgoing IRFU high performance director David Nucifora announced the contract extension at Abbotstown this afternoon.
Farrell's current contract was due to expire in 2025.
Nucifora also confirmed that one contracted player from each province will be available to play for the Ireland sevens side at next year's Olympics in Paris.
Farrell was recently awarded the World Rugby Coach of the Year.
